July 1, 2019, is the monumental day God ended his Angel’s earthly assignment.

Diana Marie Anderson was assigned to this earth on Aug. 2, 1950, in the city of Lafayette. Our Heavenly Father allowed Doris Abraham Palfrey and Pete Anderson to be her earthly parents. She was heavily involved in the Jennings community and attended Jefferson Davis High School. While on assignment, she carried out her labor duties and held positions at companies such as SBA Shipyard and the sewing factory. She later retired from the Jefferson Davis Parish cafeteria program. During her assignment, she touched many lives by being active in many organizations at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

Diana groomed three beautiful children, Andrea Berry (Willie), Conkichi Walker (Robin) and Bernard “Lil Ben” Johnson, Jr. From this great birthing came seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Her presence will be missed by the City of Jennings, but mostly her siblings, Harold Abraham (Elvira) Phoenix of Arizona, Lena Handy (Kenneth) of Jennings, Ernest Palfrey, Jr. (Patricia) of Hobbs, New Mexico, Sarah Venable (William) of Temple, Texas, Jenora Palfrey of Breaux Bridge, and Doris Palfrey, Eric Palfrey, Anthony Palfrey, Angela Turner ( Kassie) and Lucious Johnson (Karen), all of Jennings.

She has joined Doris and Ernest Palfrey, Pete Anderson, Jr., Lena and Bradley Abraham, Sr., Ernest Palfrey, Jawon Lennette, Kenneth Pelican, Jarriel Palfrey, Antonio and Harold Fontenot, Zariah Thibodeaux and Lance Higginbottom, Jr., in eternal rest.

While on earth, she was known for her great singing which has now landed her a permanent position in God’s Heavenly Choir. She will join other musical legends such as Aretha Franklin, Mahalia Jackson, James Brown, Ray Charles, Kelly Sue Deville, BB King, Whitney Houston and many other talented artists.

There will be a celebration for her promotion to the Heavenly Choir on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at OLPH Catholic Church in Jennings.

Diana’s public viewing will begin at 8 a.m. and a Life Celebration Service will begin at 11 a.m.

Her earthly structure will be laid to rest at OLPH Catholic Cemetery immediately after the service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Golden Gate Funeral Home of Dallas, Texas.
