Dolores Gary

Funeral services for Mrs. Dolores Gary, 78, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Evangeline, with Father Paul LaFleur officiating.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021, in Miguez Funeral Home Chapel from 9 a.m. until time to leave for the church at 1:30 p.m.

A rosary was recited at noon.

Entombment followed in Iota Mausolelum.

Mrs. Dolores passed away Sept. 25, 2021, in Lake Village, Ark.

She was born Feb. 2, 1943, and was a lifelong resident of Evangeline.

She loved to pick and joke around and keep everyone smiling. She adored her cat, Snowball, and loved spending time with her friends and family. She also enjoyed spending quality time at her camp in Arkansas.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Merlin Gary; daughter, Jennifer (Terry) LeJeune of Hathaway; son Ricky (April) Gary of Evangeline; brother Shelton Latiolais; grandchildren Jace LeJeune, Devan Gary, Tristen Gary, Lyndsey Gary and Mackenzie Gary; greatgrandchildren Levi Manuel, Chauncey Manuel and Kashton Jordan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Matilde LaCombe Latiolais; and sisters Rosa Hebert, Livian Gotte, Lillian Wright, Juanita Hebert and Annie LeJeune.

Pallbearers were Jace LeJeune, Tristen Gary, Randy Hebert, Ernest Jordan, Chris Demary and Allen “Soul” Stewart.

Honorary pallbearers were Mackenzie Gary, Levi Manuel, Chauncey Manuel and Kashton Jordan.
