Donald Lloyd Broussard, Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church-Iota for Donald Lloyd Broussard, Sr., 74, who died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2023 at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.

Fr. Jude Thierry, Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church-Opelousas, officiated for the services. The family requested visiting hours Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. A rosary was recited at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Mr. Broussard is survived by his wife of 52 years, Brenda Latiola Broussard of Egan; three daughters, Tina B. Esthay of Evangeline, Tonia B. Lively and her husband Chris of Pearland, Texas, Tamra B. Kibodeaux and her husband Lee of Indian Bayou; one son, Donald L. Broussard, Jr. and his wife Elyse of Egan; 11 grandchildren, Bryce Esthay, Elena Palomo, Aiden Martinez, Taylor Daigle, Caleb and Nikolaus Richert, Cameron and Adrian Kibodeaux, Elena Stanley, Wesley and Amelia Broussard; three sisters, Mary Kathy Juneau of Jennings, Martha Broussard of Lacassine, Brenda Dupont of Milton; four brothers, Gregory Broussard of Greenwell Springs, Vincent Broussard of Jennings, Jacob Broussard of Gillis and Mark Broussard of Jennings.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Mary Vincent Broussard.
