JENNINGS — It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share with you that Doyle Leonard Doucet passed away on May 21, 2023.

Doyle was born in Jennings on July 4, 1946, to Rose Lillie Doucet. Doyle was an insurance salesman and also worked trimming trees. He loved being outdoors and working with this hands. Doyle was a member of the Hope Church in Evangeline. He was a faithful servant of the Lord and loved worshipping in church and spreading God’s word. Doyle loved the outdoors, hunting small game and fishing. Doyle was a kind and generous man who was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Doyle is survived by his sister, Janice Rae Humble of Jennings; one uncle, T.J. Doucet of the Bluff; cousins Denise Walker (Wyvan) of Weatherford, Texas; DeWayne Arnold of Denton, Texas, Denita Arnold of Fort Worth, Texas and Dennis Arnold (Colleen) of Weatherford, Texas.

Doyle was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Doucet; and his aunts, Mildred Doucet and Loretta Doucet; and one uncle, Ray Doucet.

A celebration of Doyle’s life was held at Hope Church in Evangeline on Wednesday, May 24, 2023. Burial immediately followed in the Bluff Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dennis Arnold, Chris Clay, Bob LeCombe, Darrel Daigle, Jerry Hutchison and Aaron Patterson. Honorary pallbearer was Melvin Clay.

A gathering of family and friends was held at Hope Church in Evangeline. Visitation resumed on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 and continued until the time of his service.
