Edwina Broussard Hebert

Graveside services for Edwina Broussard Hebert, wife of Willie Ray Hebert, were held April 15, 2020, at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Evangeline, with Father Paul Lafleur officiating.

Visitation was held from 1-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2020, at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings. A Rosary was recited at 2 p.m.

Mrs. Hebert died at 12:18 p.m. on April 13, 2020, in her residence. She was a native of Lake Arthur and had lived in the Jennings area for a number of years.

Edwina loved to read, work in her yard, plant flowers and travel. She also loved going to church and saying the Rosary. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Joseph Anthony Cain (Damiana) of Carapebus, Brazil; her brother, Leroy Broussard (Betty) of Tepetate; her sisters, Marie Martin of Bayou Vista, Mardia Mallett of Mississippi and Priscilla Marceaux of Abbeville; her four grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Ray Hebert; her parents, Dewy Broussard and Clementine Conner Broussard; her brothers, Percy Broussard, Adam “J.B.” Broussard, Richard Broussard and her twin, Edwin Broussard; and her sisters, Jane Henderson and Rosamae Abshire.
