A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church for Errol James Daigle, 67, of Lakeside on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, at 10 a.m., with Father Charles McMillin officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home beginning on Thursday, Jan. 31, from 3:30-8 p.m.

Errol was born in Jennings on April 26, 1951, to Cleveland James Daigle and Elina Prejean Daigle. He was called from his earthly life on Jan. 30, 2019. He served our country honorably in the Army. Errol was the owner of Daigle Construction for over 30 years before retiring. He loved being outdoors, hunting and watching the lake at his home. Errol also enjoyed cooking for others, as well as spending time with his family and friends. Errol was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Errol is survived by beloved wife, Alice Courville LaSage Daigle of Lakeside; his two sons, Stuart Daigle of San Antonio, Texas, and Keith Daigle of Lafayette; his two daughters, Bridget Daigle Veuleman (Daniel) of Lacassine and Tina Pousson (Victor) of Iota; his seven grandchildren, Jared LaSage (Kassidy), Andrew Daigle, Derek Pousson (Sara), Garet Pousson (Lexi), Anderson Veuleman, Piper Veuleman and Vaughn Veuleman; his two great-grandchildren, Addison Pousson and Jackson Pousson; his sister, Judy Hebert (Virgil) of Evangeline; his first wife, Corda Leger; and his beloved dog, Brees Daigle.

Errol was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland and Elina Daigle; and his son, Joseph Troy LaSage.

Carrying Errol to his final resting place in Greenwood Cemetery will be Derek Pousson, Garet Pousson, Jared LaSage, Frank Angelle, Scott Hebert and Virgil Hebert.
