The family of Gloria Jean Ardoin are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on June 6, 2022, at the age of 75 while surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services to honor Gloria’s life will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings at 10 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2022, with Father Keith Pellerin officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 9, 2022, from 3-9 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6 p.m. The family requests that visitation resume Friday, June 10, 2022, from 8 a.m. until the time of her service at 10 a.m.

Burial will follow in Louisiana Southwest Veterans Cemetery.

Gloria was born on Jan. 21, 1947, to Eloi Benoit and Mimae Thibeaux.

Gloria was a homemaker who dedicated her life to the care of her family which she adored. She was a very faithful woman who always prayed for others; as well as enjoyed volunteering and helping those in need. Gloria loved the beach, traveling and going camping with the love of her life. Most of all she loved spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.

Gloria was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish Gloria’s memories are her husband and love of her life of 55 years, Harry “Bogger” Ardoin, Jr., of Jennings; her son, Todd Ardoin of Jennings; her two daughters, Rachael Ardoin of Lafayette and Trisha Griffin (John) of Jennings and her three brothers, Jimmy Benoit (Judy) of Lake Arthur, Edgar Benoit (Kathy) of Lacassine and Michael Benoit of Florida.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Eloi and Mimae Benoit and two brothers, Lawrence Benoit and Aros James “AJ” Benoit.

Those chosen to honor her as pallbearers will be Tyler Ardoin, Nicholas Ardoin, John Griffin, David Ardoin, Terry Benoit and Carl Higginbotham.

Honorary pallbearer will be Donald Ryder.

The family of Gloria would like to send a very special thank you to Heart of Hospice, Jeff Davis MD Home Care, Southern Urology Radiation Therapy Center, Dr. Charles Ray, Jessica Ardoin, Brecca Conner, Caroline Druilhet and all of those who prayed for our family in our time of need.
