Helen Editha Wright Wilson was born Oct. 2, 1930, in Welsh. She passed away Aug. 1, 2019, in Jennings American Legion Hospital at the age of 88 ½ years old.

Helen is survived by her husband, James Owen Wilson. They were married Dec. 27, 1952, in Welsh United Methodist Church in Welsh. She is also survived by her daughter, Mabel Grace Wilson Brewer of Westlake and her son, Ernie S. Wilson of Jennings. She has five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Helen believed strongly in fairness and honesty toward others. She was a member of Jennings United Methodist Church, serving as a faithful member of the choir for 66 years, Sunday School teacher and a vacation Bible school volunteer. Her involvement in the field of education included 33 years in the public school system as a home economics teacher, civics teacher ad a Future Homemakers of America sponsor. She supported and was a part of Webelo Scouts and Jennings High School Band Boosters.

Preceding in death were her father and mother, Ernest Wright and Mabel Brochoven Wright; sister, Ruth Cavenaugh; and her brothers, Judge Ernest Wright and Dr. Malcolm Wright.

Helen has chosen to donate her body for the benefit of scientific and medical education. A decision concerning a celebration of her life will be determined at a later date.
