Hilda D. Schoolfield

Hilda Doucet Schoolfield entered into eternal rest on Friday, Nov. 26, 2021, in Orange, Texas.

Visitation for Mrs. Hilda will begin today, Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021, at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Interment will take place immediately following her funeral services in Mermentau Cemetery.

Hilda was born in Lyons Point on July 14, 1929, to Pete Doucet and Agnes Q. Doucet.

She was talented and creative and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and dancing, and was a loving mother who will be deeply missed by her friends and family.

Hilda leaves behind to cherish her memories her three children, Roger Dale Schoolfield of Montgomery, Ala., John Charles Schoolfield (Sheila) of Orange, Texas, and Rhonda Gail Schoolfield Thompson (Chuck) of Bridge City, Texas; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Betty Verret of Lafayette, Joyce Chapman of Jennings and Annie Thibodeaux of Jennings.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Agnes Doucet; her brothers, Carl, Doucet, Lee Doucet, Ray Doucet, Claude Doucet, and Frenchie Doucet; and one great-grandchild, Kandy Campbell.
