Howard Lance Simon, 65, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 5, 2022.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Semien-Lewis Mortuary in Jennings, with Reverend Dr. Kieran D. Coleman officiating.

Visiting with family and friends will be held in the chapel from 8-11 a.m.

Interment will be in Peterson Memorial Cemetery.

Howard was born in Jennings on Dec. 19, 1956, to the late Lawrence Homer Simon, Sr., and Margaret Obey Seeley Simon.

Howard was educated in the Jefferson Davis Parish school system and was later employed by the Jefferson Davis Parish Police Jury and Mosquito Control.

He was married to Marilyn Wilridge Simon and to that union four children were born. Howard loved spending time with “his boys,” his family and his friends, as well as working in his yard.

Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Simon; his grandson, Hayden Blueitt; his parents, Lawrence and Margaret Simon; his brothers, Lawrence Simon, Jr., Jimmie Simon, and Clarence Simon and his sister, Ann Allen.

Howard is survived by his daughters, Nancy (Ricky) Rollins of Houston, Texas, Michelle Wilridge of Iowa, and Tanysie Simon and Hollie Simon, both of Jennings; his grandchildren, Ebony Wilridge, Daineka Wilridge, Demond Wilridge, Curtis Bell, Colinje Wilridge, Damarien Simon, Tregan Citizen, Jo’Mari Citizen, Azire Simon, Alanee West, Mar’Kylen Gobert, Nakia Barry, Kingston Charles and Za’Rhian Simon; six great-grandchildren; a special son (nephew), Billy Joe Paddio; three brothers, Frederick Simon and John Simon of Calif., Stanley (Ruthie) Simon of Elton, Dwight (Michelle) Simon of Youngsville and Mark Simon of Jennings; his sisters, Sharon Flin and Norma Tatmon of Calif., Barbara Harris and Geraldine Daniel of Alexandria, Flora Mixon and Wanda Bell of Jennings and Judy Stephenson of Greenville, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins and a god daughter, Ashlun Brown.
