JENNINGS — It is with the heaviest of hearts we share with you on Sept. 12, 2023, Hulin Edward Theriot left his earthly life to rejoice with the family and friends that went before him.

Hulin was born in Jennings on Dec. 8, 1956 to Hulin Theriot and Joyce Benoit Theriot. Hulin worked as a Firefighter for a total of 39 years and held the position of Fire Chief for 11 years. He loved to go camping and traveling to see and experience new adventures. Most of all, Hulin loved spending time and making memories with all his family and friends. Hulin was a kind and generous man who was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Hulin is survived by his fiancée, Tammy Richard of Jennings; his former spouse, Phyllis Hoover Theriot of Jennings; his children, Brian (Geneé) Theriot of Youngsville, Travis Theriot of Westlake, David (Anna) Theriot; his grandson, Gavin Theriot of Youngsville; his siblings, Deanna (Shelby) Richard of T-Mamou, Martin Theriot of New Roads; his step-children, Dustin (April) Richard of Jennings, Jessica (Andrew) Vidrine of Jennings, Kristina (Kevin) LeGros of Lake Arthur; his step-grandchildren, Gloria, Andrew, Tammy, Jacob, Angel, Dustin Jr., Sarah, Louis and Jason.

Hulin was preceded in death by his parents, Hulin and Joyce Lou Benoit Theriot; his siblings, Jodie Wilderson and Joy (Drue) Martin.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Jennings on Thursday, Sept. 14 at 1:30 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 12:15 p.m. at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel. Hulin will be laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings beginning on Thursday, Sept. 14 from 9 a.m. and continue until the time of his service at 1:30 p.m.
