Jay ‘Jaybird’ Menard

Memorial services for Jay “Jaybird” Menard, 47, of Roanoke will be held at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings.

Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. today, Wednesday ,until the 10 a.m. service.

Cremation has been entrusted to Miguez Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in SWLA Veterans Cemetery.

Jay was born on Sept. 24, 1974, in Welsh to Wayne and Sue Menard.

He retired from the Army after 24 years of service. He also worked for Sasol as an operator for 25 years.

Jay was known as a very caring person who helped many others. He was devoted to his family and friends. He was a strong, wonderful and devoted husband and father.

He was a member of the C10 Club and had a passion for these trucks. He enjoyed cruising in his C10 and restoring others.

Jay was a graduate of Welsh High School Class of 1992.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 25 years, Sedonia Barber Menard; a son, Keigan Menard; two sisters, Heather Guidry of Jennings and Kayla (Josh) Oliva of Lafayette; two brothers, Scott (Donna) Menard of Roanoke and Keith (Amanda) Menard of Scott; and 12 nieces and nephews.
