It is with a heavy heart that we share with you that John A. Duhon passed away on Dec. 17, 2021.

A Celebration of John’s life was held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Monday, Dec. 20, 2021, from 10 a.m. until noon.

John’s family has decided upon cremation and may hold graveside services at a later date.

John was born in Jennings on May 2, 1965, to Ernest Duhon and Dorothy Delcambre. He graduated from Lake Arthur High School. He was a clever and quick-witted person.

John proudly served his country and retired from the United States Marines. After his military service, he went on to work as a truck driver for many years and was employed by Deaton Trucking and Meadow Lark.

John was a kind and generous man who was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

John is survived by his three daughters, Kendra Shipman of Lacassine, Brittany Mott of Kingsville, Texas, and Haley Luera of Kingsville, Texas; his siblings, Clarence Duhon, Tricia Scott of Epping, N.H., Tracey Ferrant of Methuen, Mass., Neil Hey, Jr., of Freemont, N.H., and Tina Cormier (Justin) of Roanoke; his seven grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and numerous other relatives and friends; and his beloved fur baby and best friend, Bruce.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Neil and Dorothy Hey; his grandparents, Clarence and Dorothy Delcambre; and his nephew, Brandon Duhon.
