It’s with great sadness and the heaviest of hearts that the family of Julie Ann Davis Pete announces her passing from this life on July 4, 2022, at the age of 61.

Funeral Services for Julie Ann Davis Pete, 61 of Jennings, LA will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Peterson Cemetery.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Saturday, July 16, 2022, from 9 a.m. until the time of her service at 11 a.m. with a Rosary recited at 9:30 a.m.

A repast for family and friends will be held following her services at the Ward Event Hall.

Julie was born in Lake Charles to Joseph Loan Davis and Mary Hampton Davis on Jan. 22, 1961.

Julie was an activity director for Jennings Guest House and a homemaker who dedicated her life to the care of her family. She loved her career and working with her community.

Julie loved to go shopping, decorate and celebrate for the holidays.

She was considered “Auntie” to everyone in her community and mothered anyone she came across who needed her; she embraced everyone.

Julie’s greatest joys came from spending time with family and friends, sharing a cup of coffee for “Girl Time” and especially Sunday dinners and get togethers. She was the ultimate matriarch of her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Julie is survived by her four sons, James Pete, Jared Pete, Jory Williams and Tavin Nixon, all of Jennings; her two daughters, Jamie Pete and Jaylin Pete of Jennings; her 10 grandchildren, Tyrannie, Shannon, J’Dhien, T-Niyha, Dallen, Kenslyn, Trycen, Kollyns, Jansyn, Avyn and Juelz; her great-grandson, Mylix Perkins; her brothers, Lawrence Arceneaux (Cynthia), Darren Davis, Philip Davis and Shannon Davis, all of Jennings; her sister, Sandra Pete of Jennings and her godchildren, Aaron Perkins, Jr., and Ramon Davis.
