Kathleen Godeaux LeJeune, 82, passed away peacefully on Oct. 23, 2019, in her home in Jennings, surrounded by her loved ones.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., with a short service directly following in the funeral home chapel.

Kathleen “Kat” LeJeune was born to Enford and Ethel Godeaux on Oct. 15, 1937, in Jennings, the oldest of four girls.

Kat graduated from Jennings High School Class of 1956 and spent most of her life in Jennings. She traveled the world with her husband, made friends from Tunisia to Australia and spent several years in Alaska with her husband and family. In her spare time, she was a talented artist and oil painter, active member of the Catholic Daughters and a lover of anything Disney or Mickey Mouse. She made a home for anyone who came into her life and her family credits her endless love and genuine kindness for helping them become the best versions of themselves.

Through many wonderful memories and endless (often uncontrollable) laughter, her spirit will live on forever in those who were close to her, and to many more who will hear of her in their stories.

Kat is survived by her three sisters, Lynn Duraso, Patricia (Jerry) Myers and Harriet (Kirk) Weldon. She is survived by her three daughters, Claudette Steele, KK LeJeune and Charlotte (Jim) Whittington.

She is predeceased by her husband, Sherman “Duley” LeJeune, and her two daughters, Jody Speight and Lawana Abarca.

The family would like to give a special note of gratitude to Lamm Family Care and the incredible team of hospice nurses, Ashley, Frieda and Marcie: your kindness and care were inspiring.
