Graveside Services for Norman Nathan Fruge, 85, of Dry Creek were held in Greenwood Cemetery in Jennings Monday, Nov. 23, 2020, at 10 a.m.

A gathering of family and friends was held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020, from 3-6 p.m. Visitation resumed Monday, Nov. 23, 2020, from 8 a.m. until the time of his service at 10 a.m.

Norman was born in Evangeline on Oct. 16, 1935, to Joseph Fruge and Ida Deitz. He was called from this earthly life by his Heavenly Father on Nov. 19, 2020.

Norman loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He also loved to play the harmonica and guitar. Norman had many accomplishments throughout his life including being a past president of the Bundicks Lake Association. He was a kind and loving man who was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Norman is survived by his two daughters, Sandra Bland (William) of Supply, N.C., and Cindy House (Curtis) of Temple, Texas; and his three grandchildren, Travis Gandy, Jr., of New Orleans, Joshua Gundy of Spokane, Wash., and Latasha Blanc.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Fruge and Ida Deitz; his wife, Geraldine Fruge; his second wife, Cathern Bryant Fruge; his daughter, Shannon Reschly; his son, Norman Nathan Fruge, Jr.; his granddaughter, Hanna Marie LeJeune; his sisters, Carolyn Bellaire, Velma Golden, Mollie Ledbetter and Rosena Bertrand; and his brothers, Wilbert, David, Carl and Ernest Fruge.
