LAKE ARTHUR - A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church for Ronald Charles Broussard, 82, of Lake Arthur Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019, at 2 p.m., with Father Jay Alexius officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Lake Arthur today, Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 11:30 a.m. until 10 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. The family requests that visitation resume Thursday, Sept. 19, from 8 a.m. until the time of his funeral Mass.

Burial will follow in Andrus Cove Cemetery.

Ronald was born in Dequincy on Feb. 21, 1937, to Wilfred Broussard and Rosalie Fontenot Broussard. Ronald was called from this life on Sept. 16, 2019. Ronald worked in the automotive industry as a paint and body man. He loved watching LSU football, joking around and old cars. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. Ronald was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Ronald is survived by his son, Brian “T-Bruce” Broussard (Rhonda) of Crystal Springs, Miss.; his daughter, Margaret Broussard Martin (John) of Lake Arthur; his two sisters, Virginia Trahan of Lake Charles and Faith Freyou of Lake Charles; his seven grandchildren, Chasity, Darby, Ron Candace, John Jr., Travis and Ashley; as well as his 24 great-grandchildren.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Wilford and Rosalie Fontenot Broussard; his beloved wife, Mary Esther Broussard; and his grandson, Wilford Royce Broussard.

Pallbearers will be Tyra Hebert, Korey Hebert, Ben Vice, Ron Martin, John Martin, Jr., and Travis Martin.

Honorary pallbearers will be T.J. Miller, Aaron Garcia and Damon Garcia.
