Ryan Keith Smith

It is with a heavy heart that we share with you that our son, father, brother and friend, Ryan Keith Smith, passed away March 12, 2022.

A Celebration of Ryan ‘s life will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Robert Kratzer officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 17, 2022, from 8:30 a.m. until the time of his service at 1 p.m.

Burial will follow in Istre Cemetery.

Ryan was born in Crowley on Sept. 28, 1972, to LeeRoy Smith and Linda Wallace.

Ryan worked as a product analyst for Google and was living in Austin, Texas. He loved listening to music or visiting and making new friends. Ryan’s greatest joys came from spending time with his family and friends.

Ryan was a kind and generous man who was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ryan is survived by his father, LeeRoy Smith of Mermentau Cove; his mother, Linda (Rickey) Portie; his son, Dylan Smith of Lake Charles; his daughter, Audra Smith of Sulphur; his stepson, Tyler Fontenot of Boston, Mass.; and his brother, Jeff Smith of West Monroe.

Those chosen to honor Ryan as his pallbearers will be Buddy Murray, Amon Hanks, Tim Smith, Miguel Rivera, Crystal Leger and Jonathan Samuels. Honorary pallbearer will be Shannon Guidry.
