Vivian Griffith Fontenot

Mrs. Vivian Griffith Fontenot, 101, of Jennings passed away peacefully on Dec. 28, 2021, in Jennings.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021, in Miguez Funeral Home South Chapel, with Rev. Eric Sonnier officiating.

Mrs. Fontenot was born March 4, 1920, in Ville Platte to Eugene and Myra Thompson Griffith. She was a high school graduate and moved to Jennings in 1953 from Bayou Chicot.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jennings since 1953. She loved all children, especially her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Nancy (Gerald) Gilchrist of Jennings; a son, David Fontenot of Jennings; daughter-in-law, Tieresa Fontenot; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and seven great greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Fontenot; her parents; a son, Larry Fontenot; daughter-in-law, Frankie Fontenot; and three grandchildren, Cindy, Cheryl and Ryan.
