Wilma ‘Elaine’ Benoit

The family of Elaine (as she was known to family and friends) mourn her passing from this life. She left this Earth while at Abbeville General Hospital, with her daughter by her side.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Her wishes were to be cremated. Arrangements were entrusted to Cypress Funeral Home of Maurice.

Elaine loved singing, playing poker, euchre and dominoes. She loved getting together with family.

She is survived by two daughters, Dana Hoffpauir and Elsie Reynolds, both of Jennings; two sons, James Cormier, Jr. (Shantelle) of Youngsville and Garyn Bertrand (Wendi) of Tulsa, Okla.; four sisters, PeeWee Seilhan (Jude), Lorraine Sonnier (Ernest), Retha Dear (John) and Willa Hoffpauir; one brother, Hubert Hoffpauir (Gwen); 10 grandchildren; and 17 greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Pearl and CL Hoffpauir; daughter, Angela Cormier; and two grandsons, Seth Guidry and Aaron Cormier.
