Zula Mae Vincent Lyon

Zula Mae Vincent Lyon, 78, of Welsh passed away Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021.

Visitation For Zula was held at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021, from 4-8 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home today, Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021, at 8 a.m., and will proceed to Our Lady of Seven Dolors for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.

Burial will follow at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Cemetery.

Zula was born May 31, 1943, in Kaplan to Edes and Lucille Broussard Vincent.

Zula was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, especially with her grandchildren.

Zula was a devoted member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors and served in the church choir. She belonged to the local Rotary Club and was a past President.

Zula had many talents that she shared with others. She was an accomplished oil painter, porcelain artist, photographer and excellent cook who published two cookbooks. She became a private pilot with her husband’s help and loved to travel.

Zula will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Zula was preceded in death by her parents; brother George Vincent; and sisters Flavia Viator and Grace Perry.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 49 years, Emery Lyon; son Winn Arceneaux and wife Alice of Welsh; daughter Juliee Watkins and husband Glenn of Thornwell; grandchildren Jeff, Kelli, Gabrielle, Baleigh, Annie and Catherine; seven great-grandchildren; stepson Greg Lyon of Welsh; stepdaughters Lisa Lyon of Welsh and Dee O’Quinn and husband Lonnie of Iowa.
