It’s with great sadness and the heaviest of hearts that the family of Rosa Mae Louviere Sittig announces her passing from this life into the arms of the Angels on June 28, 2018 at the age of 91.

A Mass of Christians Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jennings on Monday, July 2, 201,8 at 10 a.m., with Father Susil Fernando officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Sunday, July 1, from 3:30-8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. on Sunday evening.

Visitation will resume on Monday, July 2, at 8 a.m. and continue until the time of her funeral mass at 10 a.m.

Rosa will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery.

Rosa was born in Estherwood to Leo Louviere and Meridia LeLeu Sittig on April 7, 1927.

She was a homemaker and dedicated her life to caring for her family. Rosa also worked for A& Pfor seven years alongside her husband, and was a cafeteria cook at Northside Jr. High for 13 years. In her spare time she loved to cook, sew, travel, go fishing and go on trial rides with friends, but she especially loved playing cards with her grandchildren.

Rosa was a kind and loving person and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Rosa is survived by her two sons, Ricky Sittig (Rochelle) of Houston, Texas, and Micky W. Sittig of Jennings; her four daughters, Patricia Sittig Timmons (Bill) of Jennings, Henrietta Sittig Monceaux (Tommy Crochet) of Jennings, Dora Sitting LeBlanc (Buddy) of Iowa and Kathryn Sittig Johnson of Pine Island; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and seven great great-grandchildren.

Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Meridia Louviere; her beloved husband, Robert Sittig, Jr.; her son, Hebert Lee Sittig; her three sisters; her three brothers; as well as two great-grandsons, Hunner Breck Monceaux and Braden M. Timmons.
