Suicide can be a very uncomfortable word to say. It may even be an uncomfortable topic of conversation, but more people are affected by it than most people realize.

Voting enables us to take action on advocating for our rights and holding our elected officials accountable. When we all vote, we all do better.

Dear Editor, If the public does not believe that our elections are honest then democratic elections are a myth and any nation dependent on those elections will fail the people— period. Honest elections are the cornerstone, a fundamental requirement, of any serious democratic form of government including our Republic.

The dedicated high school students across Jeff Davis Parish who support their school’s football team each Friday night deserve the same amount of recognition as their classmates wearing helmets and numbered jerseys.

Gov. John Bel Edwards recently announced $35 million in grants going to 10 parishes over the next two years to expand broadband to nearly 15,000 locations.
