The Coushatta Tribe announced this week two of their esteemed tribal members were named to the 2026 Native American 40 Under 40 Class by the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development. Emerald Skye Byrd and Tribal Secretary-Treasurer Kristian Poncho were recognized for their leadership and making powerful impacts throughout their community and beyond.

I inquired about “something to kill the moles that are tunneling up my yard.” He shook his head in a “Wish I could help you” way, checked online to see if there was a product he didn’t know about and then admitted: “We don’t have anything.”
