Acadia Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution Regent and Veterans Chairman Charlene Lacombe held their annual program at Mike’s Seafood and Steakhouse in Jennings on Nov 9. Dwayne Guidry, the director of the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery was the guest speaker. Chaplain Denise Arnard gave the blessing for the meal. After the meal, the group toured the cemetery. U.S. Air Force Private Junious Handy of Jennings turned 100 years old Thursday, Nov. 11, fittingly on Veterans Day. His daughter Jacqueline said Handy spent the day celebrating with cake, food and close family.
