Science influences many aspects of daily life in countless ways. It also helps shape the development of life skills from an early age. As children learn to communicate, think critically, make predictions and form opinions based on their observations, they are developing science skills that will last a lifetime.
Hello again, dear readers, and welcome to full-on summer. We hope you’re enjoying the fun and freedom of the season and are taking care to stay safe. Please make good use of sunscreens and bug sprays, do regular tick checks and be vigilant around swimming pools and open water. And with heat waves prevalent in so many parts of the nation, we urge you to match your activities to the day’s weather. We’re still getting virus and vaccine questions and will continue to address them. But in this month’s letters column, we will focus on a few other areas of interest.
Calendar Guidelines
On Wednesday, July 7, the Pass It On Junior High Workshops at First Presbyterian Fellowship Hall in Welsh ended with everyone having enjoyed all the fellowship and learning taking place. Community volunteers came together for three days to demonstrate their appreciation for this particular age-group of junior high students. Pastor Chan Willis spoke about the importance of passing on time, talents and love for Christ. He thanked everyone for participating, including both volunteers and young people.
