Have you ever met the guy or gal that you just couldn’t beat? You know…the kind of person that always has to come out on top? If you’ve had it bad, they’ve had it worse. If you had it good, they had it better. If you got a good deal, they’ll tell you how you got snookered and begin to tell you the unbelievable deal they got on the very same item (“Man, you should have called me!”). If you caught a big fish, you should’ve seen theirs. If you’re knowledgeable in certain areas, they’re geniuses in all the others. If you ask for the time, they’ll tell you how to build a watch. It’s the kind of person who will not let you get a word in edgewise. They know the answers before the question is off your tongue.
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV
