Calendar Guidelines Items for Community Calendar must be submitted during regular weekday business hours at least two weeks prior to the day of the event. Events run in the order of their posted dates and ONLY AS SPACE ALLOWS. Events more than two weeks away may not run until closer to the event. Community Calendar is offered as a public service bulletin for Jeff Davis Parish community and non-profit events. Send entries to editor@jenningsdailynews.net. On a recent whirlwind trip to my hometown, I drove five hours and had exactly 15 minutes to get my luggage out of one car before driving another one, with my aunt in tow, to Broadway Under the Stars, on the grounds of the Alabama Shakespeare Festival in Montgomery, Ala.

KC news
Knights of Columbus Council 2012 met recently to honor its members and families to acknowledge their commitment to the group. Grand Knight Tommy Dennis recognized Joel Richert as Knight of the Month and Travis and Melissa Seihan as Family of the Month. Dennis also awarded Frank Angelle as Knight of the Year and Brennon and Heather LaBouve as Family of the Year.
