Jennings Firefighters Union Local 5239, recently made a donation to Trail Life USA Troop 1273 of First Baptist Church of Jennings to purchase several zerodegree sleeping bags and coats to use for camping trips throughout the year.

Parish rice growers make contribution to area university

The LSU AgCenter and McNeese State University Ag Department have entered into an agreement to conduct rice production research on the McNeese State University farm. The irrigation system, which includes the well and underground pipe, needed repairs and the Jeff Davis Rice Growers Association donated $5,000 to help fund these repairs.
