My Country, My Thoughts Before I start, there is no one more miraculous than the mighty God. Please shine a light on our country and our people. Amen! Were we born for a time like this? A time when Donald J. Trump was shot at but saved by God. A time when there is so much uncertainty. There is more moral and cultural decline as characterized by excessive indulgence in pleasure or luxury. Too much spending and the list goes on.
Suicide can be a very uncomfortable word to say. It may even be an uncomfortable topic of conversation, but more people are affected by it than many realize.
Dear Doctors: A man I have been dating had a stroke a few weeks ago, and now he has aphasia. When I visit him at the rehab, he’s ready for me to leave after a short time. Is this normal? He seems to be happy I’m there, but he dismisses me quickly. I’m trying not to feel hurt.
Words cannot express my gratitude to Francine for dancing away from Jeff Davis Parish or the sympathy I feel for those whose lives have been turned upside down because of the hurricane. The stress of wondering where she would make landfall was enough to almost take me down, as I am a planner. So, whenever something like this happens, my mind turns to mush because you can prepare but at the end of the day, it’s a guessing game until the final hour.
