Leadership EXCEL Class of 2025 recently expanded leadership training into the criminal justice field with a mock trial experience, along with in-depth knowledge and expertise from local criminal justice professionals, including Jeff Davis Parish District Attorney Lauren Heinen.

Jennings Lions Club presented this year’s scholarship to recipient Ryleigh Daigle. The club gives $600 per semester of college scholarship to a winning Jennings High School Leo Club senior who meets the GPA and community service requirements along with providing an essay. The scholarship is good for all four years of college if recipients continue to meet the required college GPA threshold established by the Lion’s Club.

Louisiana State High School Teacher of the Year and Jennings High School Ag teacher Aaron Beaubouef was honored at the Jeff Davis Parish School Board meeting for his recent accomplishment. Superintendent John Hall said the teacher has been an integral part of the parish education system, even before he received the award.
