The Jeff Davis Parish Sanitary Landfill Commission is working to address solid waste and stormwater compliance issues after receiving a report from Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality listing continuous violations. Twenty-year-old Patrick Allen Noel Jr. of Welsh faced 31st Judicial District Judge Steve Gunnell to be sentenced for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, a felony in violation of R.S. 40:967 (A)(1)(B)(1)(a), possession of Psilocybin with intent to distribute, a felony in violation of R.S.40:966(A)(1)(B)(1)(a), and possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute, a felony in violation of R.S.40:967(A)(1)(B)(4).
