LAKE ARTHUR — The Lake Arthur Town Council convened for its regular meeting on Wednesday, April 2, to discuss key community matters, including property demolitions, economic development and upcoming events, including the Love the Boot cleanup project.
The Jeff Davis Arts Council’s A Chip Off the Old Block high school group gathers on stage at the Strand Theatre after their recent production, “Little Women” by Louisa May Alcott. The group will now have the summer off before kicking things off again in the fall.

The pieces are built on rolling metal frames making the conference table easy to move and put together. The table, complete with polished police jury logos, was custom built by Boudreaux.

The Jeff Davis Parish Police Jury recently agreed to join other Louisiana local governing bodies in support of Dysautonomia Louisiana. The pledge helps support the group promoting awareness of dysautonomia and diagnosis education, along with efforts to increase medical capabilities in Louisiana for treating the disorder.
Lake Arthur Elementary School first graders work hard on their repurposed newspaper masterpieces for the school’s upcoming Art Walk. First grade classes of Hailey Solari, Emily Bonin and Mandy Broussard will display their artistic abilities for the public to enjoy. Anyone wishing to view the art pieces will have a chance from 5-6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9 at the LAES gym, located at 500 Mill Ave.
