The Jeff Davis Parish Police Jury is seeking federal funding for upgrades and improvements to the William E. Broussard Event Center located at the parish fairgrounds. The police jury recently changed the name from multi-purpose building to event center to better reflect the building’s capabilities for hosting various events from wedding receptions, formal dinners, socials, reunion events and more.

LAKE ARTHUR — Jeff Davis Parish schools will participate in a fundamental skills day this week to promote student inclusion. The Jeff Davis Parish School Board is partnering with Special Olympics Louisiana to bring some friendly competition to parish students. The annual Special Olympics Track and Field Day will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Thursday, March 19, at Lake Arthur High School, located at 4374 Tiger Lane.
