Anamendmenttothecurrentambulance ordinance which could affect emergency service providers is under consideration by the Jeff Davis Parish Police Jury and will be voted on at the next regular meeting.

Fourteen contestants representing the seven high schools in Jeff Davis Parish will be competing for the title of Jeff Davis Parish Fair Queen on Thursday, Oct. 3. The annual contest features high school juniors or seniors competing for the title during the 6 p.m. pageant in the Glen Daigle Arena at the Jeff Davis Parish Fairgrounds. Representing Elton High School are senior Kenzly Shuff and junior Kaley Lemoine. Shuff, 18, is the daughter of Malcolm and Heather Bertrand. Lemoine, 16, is the daughter of Martin and Christina Lemoine. Hathaway High School will be represented by senior Ryleigh Leger and junior Madison Matte. Leger, 17, is the daughter of Amy and Justin Leger. Matte, 16, is the daughter of Jenee LeBlanc and Cory Matte.
Peter Doland recently pled No Contest to Hit and Run Driving, a felony in violation of La. R.S. 14:100 C.(2), according to Jeff Davis District Attorney Lauren Heinen.
