WELSH — The Welsh Police Department is in need of the public’s help with identifying and locating a suspect who walked into the Welsh Home Bank and robbed the teller at gunpoint late last week.

Jennings’ founder Sylvester Luther (S.L.) Cary was honored at Founders Park in downtown Jennings recently, with city officials, parish leaders, civic organizations residents — and even a descendant — gathered for the event.
Many gathered recently for the annual burning ceremony retiring old flags for national flag day on June 14. The ceremony was held at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home where speeches were given and the bugle was played by members of James O. Hall American Legion Post 19, to honor the passing of these important national symbols.
