WELSH — Town officials here will be revisiting its ordinances for dangerous dogs after a concerned citizen spoke up during Tuesday’s council meeting.

With national dates for SAT and ACT college admissions tests coming this summer, the Better Business Bureau of Southwest Louisiana is alerting parents of costly scams to hustle bogus testing and prep materials and services.

BATON ROUGE (AP) — Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry approved 11 bills Tuesday, including expanding death row execution methods, concealed carry of a gun without a permit and legislation that effectively eliminates parole for most jailed in the future.

Legislators adjourned the second extraordinary session of 2024, called by Gov. Jeff Landry to focus on crime, last week six days before its scheduled deadline. More than a dozen bills were approved by both chambers and are headed to Landry’s desk for signature.
