Deadline to update voter party affiliation draws near
The deadline for residents to verify their registered party affiliation is quickly approaching and Jeff Davis Parish Registrar of Voters Joann Blair is encouraging voters to do so.
CORRECTION
It was incorrectly stated in the “Rezoning request shot down” story in the Friday, Feb. 16 edition, that a supermajority vote required a percentage of more than half of the Jennings City Council. A supermajority vote actually requires more than two-thirds vote of the council.

Detectives with Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office are asking the public for help identifying suspects involved in a recent burglary.
One Step Closer
Workers recently completed pouring the cement slab for the community splash pad in Welsh. Mayor Karl Arceneaux said the project is on track to be completed and open to the public by the summer.
