ELTON — After a turbulent year, officials here announced the town is one step closer to a partnership that will relieve some of the financial burden they incur from running its outside entertainment space.
There was a typo in the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office audit that ran in the Wednesday, Feb. 4 edition of Jennings Daily News. It should have said the ad valorem taxes collected for the JDP Drainage Districts were $1,743,607.

Early voting numbers high
Community members, family and friends of the late John E. “Johnny” Guinn joined parish and state officials on Tuesday to dedicate North Frontage Road, between La. 102 and 97, in honor of the former state representative.
