Early voting for the May 16 spring closed party primary begins this Saturday at the Jeff Davis Parish Registrar of Voters Office, located at 302 North Cutting Ave. in Jennings. The office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 2-9, with the exception of Sunday, May 3.

The City of Jennings has promptly corrected a list of deficiencies noted by the state health department, including broken manhole covers and pipes.
The Jeff Davis Parish Landfill Commission is moving forward preparing requests for proposals for new landfill and methane gas contracts. Current contracts will expire in the summer of 2027 with landfill operator Republic Services and methane gas renewable energy operators Moreau Energy. Meanwhile, the commission is preparing for landfill expansion.
