A Block Off Broadway Community Theatre, in conjunction with Jeff Davis Arts Council, is gearing up for its festive performance with two weekends’ worth of chances to catch the holiday hilarity.

A day highlighting youth and adults in the area with special needs is scheduled for this weekend. Hosted by Different Voices, One Community Foundation, the event is intended to bring together area residents to meet others with similar needs, enjoy activities and explore available resources. The event starts at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at North Cutting Park, located at 1103 North Cutting Ave. in Jennings.

First Baptist Church of Jennings is hosting their first annual Pumpkin Run with a focus on both competition and fun. Avid runners to casual walkers of all ages are welcomed to join the 5K (3.1 mile) race around Jennings.
