Indians Defeat Montgomery, 46-22
WELSH — The Welsh Greyhounds will try to improve to 2-0 for the season Thursday night when they host the Hamilton Christian Warriors in a nondistrict clash. Hamilton proclaimed themselves to have an “air raid” offense that would roll up over 500 yards per game and score 50 points. But something happened between dreaming and reality, as the Warriors have been blasted in both of their games, with their opponents being the ones who rolled up the big numbers.
JENNINGS — If you expected the Jennings Bulldogs to be down in the dumps after consecutive losses to Leesville and Eunice, you would be completely wrong. The Bulldogs are working hard at practice and are remaining very positive.

ELTON — It’s been quite a while since the Elton Indians have been the owners of a 2-0 record on the gridiron. Elton has claimed lopsided wins over Pickering and Northwood-Lena to start the season and will now hit the road to face the Montgomery Tigers in a nondistrict clash. The Tigers have the exact opposite record of the Indians, as they have yet to garner a win. Montgomery has played a little tougher competition, however, as their losses have come to 4-A Grant and 2-A Lakeview.
LAKE ARTHUR —The Lake Arthur Tigers will look to build off of last week’s win over Mamou when they host the Jeanerette Tigers in their Homecoming contest. The host Tigers will come into the contest with a 1-1 record, while the visiting Tigers also sport a 1-1 mark.
Foo Fact of the Game: A more experienced Eunice team dominated Jennings from start to finish in their 39-14 win. The Bobcats had 442 total yards while the Dogs had only 197 total yards.
MAMOU – The Lake Arthur Tigers shook off a rough start Friday night, and used a huge second half to pull away from the Mamou Green Demons by a final of 32-14 on the Cajun Prairie. The Tigers trailed 14-9 going into the intermission, but rallied back for 23 unanswered points in the second half to claim their first victory of the season. The Tigers will now return home to face Jeanerette in their annual Homecoming contest to be held at Jack Doland Stadium Friday night at 7 p.m.
