BATON ROUGE (AP) — Will Baker scored 25 points and LSU recovered from a home court loss to No. 24 Alabama by cruising to a 95-74 win over Arkansas on Saturday afternoon.
LACASSINE — The Lacassine Cardinals kept their winning ways alive this week by pummeling the Bell City Bruins by a final of 82-40 from John Juneau Gymnasium. The Cards upped their sparkling mark to 32-2 overall, and currently sit at No. 2 in the latest Division V non-select power ratings. Lacassine placed a trio of starters in double figures, including Kane Broussard, Jordan Garcia and Alexx Thomas. The Cards were also able to bury 11 3-pointers in the contest.
LAKE ARTHUR —The Lake Arthur Tigers made it three in a row on Thursday night by topping the Kinder Yellow Jackets by a final of 58-48 from “Nookie” Moore Gymnasium. It was the Ray Levi show here Thursday night, as the senior forward poured in 34 of the Tigers’ 58 points in the win. The win upped the Tigers’ overall mark to 12-10, and currently sit at No. 12 in the latest Division IV nonselect power ratings.
The Jennings Bulldog basketball team hosted district opponent Kinder last week. The Dogs jumped out to a 13-0 lead and would take a 29-9 halftime lead. Kinder would make a comeback in the second half and trailed by 11 points in the final 90 seconds of the game. The Dogs would go on to take a 56-42 win over the Yellow Jackets.

GRAND LAKE — The Lake Arthur Lady Tigers stayed perfect in district 5-2A play this week when they traveled to Grand Lake and busted a huge win over the Lady Hornets by a final of 73-42. Lake Arthur moved their impressive overall record out to 22-4, 5-0 in district 5-2A action. The Lady Tigers are currently sitting at No. 3 in the latest Division IV non-select power ratings as they inch closer to playoff basketball. Lady Tiger senior guard Vivian Sketoe had quite a night in the blowout win by scoring a whopping 36 points, while Lake Arthur placed another two players in double figures in the win.
