The Jeff Davis Parish Police Jury broke ground on a new $2.1 million, 4,375 square-foot animal shelter recently. Jury President Steve Eastman said the facility is set to be a stateof- the-art shelter that will feature 40 dog runs and 34 cat enclosures with exercise area.
