Area families gathered at Founder’s Park in downtown Jennings to witness the release of several painted lady butterflies thanks to the Jeff Davis Parish Library.
Jude Hannon was the first attendee chosen to free a butterfly into the wild. The 10-year-old was able to keep the beautiful, winged insect on his finger for some time.
