A bill was passed in the recent spring legislative session that once again allows vendors to be compensated for collecting and filing local taxes after lawmakers removed that benefit in 2024.
The compensation was reinstated through the collaboration of legislators from opposing sides who wanted to reverse the measure, according to District 37 Rep. Troy Romero.
