In efforts to continue upgrading safety measures at schools in the district, the Jeff Davis Parish School Board approved a grant to upgrade the camera security system at James Ward Center for Excellence.
JWCE received a $40,000 Safe School Grant to pay for the upgrades, according to Superintendent John Hall.
