A Jennings woman started 2025 off by celebrating the birth of her first child, who was also the first baby born in the parish.
Blaycie Sye Marie Ortego welcomed her daughter, Everleigh Sye Marie Ortego, at 5:09 p.m. on Jan. 6 at Ochsner American Legion Hospital in Jennings. Everliegh weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces and was 18.75 inches long.
