Jeff Davis Parish Police Jury officials and maintenance crew picked up litter at Houssiere Park recently for Louisiana’s Love the Boot week in partnership with Keep Louisiana Beautiful. The police jury has been awarded a grant for new trash receptacles at Houssiere Park and Jeff Davis Parish Courthouse. Hosting a litter clean-up event is part of the grant process while also contributing to the beautiful parish park enjoyed by many campers, boaters and jet skiers. The park also offers many scenic places to fish and relax by the water.

Two men have been indicted for second-degree murder in the shooting death of an 18-year-old Jennings native.
The Jeff Davis Parish Police Jury agreed to move forward with Bluewing Consulting Services for repairs to the Jeff Davis Parish Regional Consolidated Jail facility. The company will put together a bid package for making sealing repairs to the sallyport area of the facility.
