Each year, Jennings Daily News assists Santa Claus during the busiest season of the year by delivering letters from local children to the North Pole. The letters may also be published in upcoming special editions of JDN.
As families and friends gather across Jeff Davis Parish and throughout the state to celebrate Thanksgiving, the Louisiana State Police would like to remind all motorists to make safety a priority during this busy travel season. Holidays should be marked by togetherness and gratitude, not preventable tragedies on our roadways.

LAKE ARTHUR — A new holiday hunt will be underway soon in the loveable style of “Beaux the Mischievous Christmas Elf” who led area youth on a holiday adventure throughout Lake Arthur in 2023. After a one-year hiatus, the festive holiday hunt is back and will feature the introduction of a new character, Meaux Sneaux, as this year’s Christmas Festival theme is Winter Wonderland in honor of the great snowfall experienced in January.
